Application Process

Q: When will I hear back about my application?

A: The deadline to apply is August 12, 2017. We will get back to you on your application and potential meetings no later than Thursday, August 24, 2017. Following the application deadline, we share the list of startup applicants with the participating corporations, who select the startups they are interested in meeting with. Please refrain from emailing our team to learn about if your application was accepted or not. We will let you know about meeting schedules as soon as we can, but promise to afford all startups applicants with two free conference registration, so make your travel plans now.

Q: Do I need to fill out all of the questions on the application?

A: Yes, please complete the entire application. It is also very important that each startup gives contact information for the person or people who plan to attend the conference so we can communicate with you.

1-on-1 Meetings

Q: What positions do the corporate representatives hold in their companies?

A: Most corporate representatives are in corporate venture, innovation, business development or corporate strategy roles and well-suited to hear pitches from startups for the purposes of potential customer relationships, strategic partnerships and, if appropriate, investment opportunities.

Q: What exactly should startups pitch to the corporations?

A: Startups are pitching their products/services in whatever avenue suits their goals. Each startup can decide whether they are looking for potential customers, strategic partners or investors. Pitches can also differ depending on which corporation a startup is pitching to.

General Conference Questions

Q: If my startup does not get scheduled meetings with corporations should I still come to the conference?

A: Yes! There will be plenty of opportunities to network with corporations, investors and other founders. Plus, Miller Park is pretty cool. In addition, you can also sign up for an Exhibition table. 

Q: Will OnRamp pay for my other travel/time expenses associated with the conference?

A: No, OnRamp provides free admission for up to two attendees from each startup, but will not pay for other associated expenses.

Q: Which manufacturing corporations are attending the conference?

A: We will continue to update the startup page of our website with more confirmed corporations through August 2017. You can see the most up-to-date list here.

Q: What is the dress code?

A: The dress code is business casual, and in our mind jeans are okay.

Q: Will there be food on site?

A: With registration, you will receive all day beverage service, lunch, as well as an evening reception with drinks and hors d’oeuvres.

Q: Is there a quiet space for meetings?

A: There will be several spaces available for networking.

Post Conference

Q: After the conference, can OnRamp give startups contact information for corporation representatives?

A: Out of respect for our corporate partners, our policy is to only give corporations each startup’s contact information so the corporation can reach out if they would like to follow up. It is your responsibility to collect business cards and contact information from the corporations you meet with.

Q: Will presentations be available online after the conference?

A: A select number of presentations will be available based on each speaker’s interest.
